Black Pinion LLC ("we", "us", or "our") operates the Fielded mobile application (the "App"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect infor mation when you use our App.
1. Information Collection and Transmission
Fielded is a local-first application. Most data remains on your device. However, certain features require minimal data transmission: • Shipment Tracking: To provide real-time updates, the App transmits tracking nu mbers and carrier names to the EasyPost API. No personal or project-specific det ails (like names or addresses) are shared.
• Specifically, we do not collect names, email addresses, phone numbers, or othe r personal identifiers for our own storage or use. • We do not use analytics, tracking pixels, or advertising SDKs. • We do not access your contacts, calendar, or browsing history. • We do not create user accounts or require registration.
2. Information Stored on Your Device
All data you create within the App is stored exclusively on your device using lo cal storage technologies (SQLite and AsyncStorage). This includes: • Project information (project names, job numbers) • Task records and associated photos • Daily reports and crew attendance logs • Crew roster and contact details
• App preferences and settings
You retain full ownership and control of this data at all times.
3. Photos and Camera Access
The App may request access to your device camera and photo library to attach ima ges to tasks. Photos selected or captured are stored locally on your device. The y are never uploaded to any server unless you explicitly choose to share them us ing your device's built-in sharing features.
4. Data Backup and Export The App provides features to export your data as backup files (ZIP archives) and generate PDF reports. These files are created and stored locally on your device . When you use the system share sheet to send a backup or PDF, data leaves your device only through your chosen sharing method (e.g., email, AirDrop, cloud stor age). We have no access to or control over data once shared.
5. Email Functionality The App may compose emails with PDF report attachments using your device's nativ e mail client. We do not access, read, or store any email addresses or message c ontent. Email addresses entered as report recipients are stored locally on your device.
6. Notifications
The App may request permission to send local push notifications for task deadlin e reminders. These notifications are generated and managed entirely on your devi ce. No notification data is sent to external servers.
7. Third-Party Services Fielded integrates with the EasyPost API strictly for shipment tracking. We do n ot use any third-party analytics, advertising, or data collection services for b ehavioral monitoring. The App does not contain any third-party tracking code of that nature.
8. Children's Privacy The App is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Since no personal data is collected fro m any user, no special provisions for children's data are necessary.
9. Data Security Because all data remains on your device, security relies on your device's built- in protections (passcode, biometrics, encryption). We recommend keeping your dev ice software up to date and using a secure lock screen.
10. Data Deletion
You may delete all App data at any time through the Settings menu ("Clear Projec t Data"). Uninstalling the App will also remove all locally stored data.
11. Changes to This Policy We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected w ithin the App and at our website. Your continued use of the App after changes co nstitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
